His expertise is grounded in real-world aviation knowledge—he is a licensed commercial pilot and an FAA-certified Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic.
Beyond business, Dawit’s influence extends into advocacy and governance. He sits on the boards of prestigious aviation bodies, including Women in Aviation International (WAI), International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), and National Business Aviation Association (NBAA), where he leads African engagement. His scholarship initiatives are making tangible strides toward diversity and inclusion in the aerospace sector.
Fluent in English and French and with work experience across Ethiopia, Switzerland, the U.S., and beyond, Dawit is well-positioned to lead AfBAA’s mission of strengthening business aviation in Africa.
